You love freaking out, but forget to apply sunscreen all over the exposed areas as the result of which your skin gets tanned. Sun tanned dark skin is quite embarrassing.
But, do not worry, you can get back your original complexion, if you follow these simple and effective home remedies for tanned skin.
Chilled Yogurt With A Pinch of Turmeric:
Since ages turmeric is used for improving complexion. It is sure shot granny’s tip to retain your fair complexion back. Yoghurt is an excellent skin whitener and chilled yoghurt cools your skin. So, mix a pinch of turmeric in yoghurt and apply the paste all through the affected areas. Let it get dried and take a shower.
Fresh Lemon Juice:
Lemon is a naturally occurring bleaching agent. But, beware not to go out after applying lemon juice because lemon is photosensitive too. If you do so, you will get your skin darkened further. Just apply freshly squeezed lemon juice all over the affected areas. Rinse off once it is dry. You can choose to add sugar also to the lemon juice as it is a good cleansing agent.
Tomato Juice and Pulp:
Take out the juice of tomato and mix rose water to it. Apply this over the sun tanned skin . Rinse off with the lukewarm water after 15-20 minutes.
Take 3-4 medium sized potato. Cut them into two halves and grind them to a paste. Mix a few drops of lemon juice to it and apply over the affected areas for half an hour. Rinse off thoroughly with cold water. Potato is rich in Vitamin C and hence it has excellent bleaching properties.
Juice of Cucumber:
Cucumber juice is very effective on sun tanned skin because it is a great coolant. It soothes the sun burnt skin and remove the tan. It keeps your skin well-moisturized too. Mix at least two tablespoonful of fresh cucumbers with one tbsp of lemon juice. Add a pinch of turmeric and mix thoroughly. Apply this all over the affected areas and leave for 30 minutes. Wash off.
Both gram flour and wheat flour helps in removing the dead and sun burnt skin and make your skin radiant. Make a thick paste of gram/wheat flour using water and mix tbsp of yoghurt to it. Do this twice a week to get the excellent results.
Almonds and Sandalwood:
Take 10 green almonds and make a thick paste of it using sandalwood oil. Apply the paste all over the tanned skin. If you are not able to get green almonds, you can take the dried ones and soak them overnight before using.
